Retired Delta Force assaulter Larry Vickers of Vickers Tactical fame let the cat out of the bag last week by posting images of semi-auto G3 and HK33K rifles from Turkey’s MKE that are apparently inbound to the U.S.
“My HK buddy James Williamson showed me the MKEK roller locked guns that Century will be importing,” said Vickers, with Century jumping into the thread to confirm, “Dammit Larry! This was supposed to be a secret!”
The big deal on this is MKEK was licensed way back by HK to make the military-grade G3 and HK33, to include tooling, machinery, and the original data packages provided by the Germans, and today is the only such concern still making these guns in such a way.
Century has already been bringing in MP5 clones from MKEK, so this all makes perfect sense. For those keeping track at home, Heckler & Koch hasn’t brought in the semi-auto G3 (HK91) and HK33 (HK93) since the Clinton administration banned them by name in 1998.
