Not worth the $12 in batteries per use!!!

Not worth the $12 in batteries per use!!!
I've had this for a couple months. I have literally (and i mean LITERALLY) used it a total of 5 times. From the word GO it has been hit or miss on when it fires the laser. It almost always fires it when racking (soft racking) but it's like it isn't sensitive enough to hear the firing pin engage. I found if you install it slightly off vertical (place the white line slightly counter clockwise off top dead center) and rotate clockwise to TDC, it makes the installment a bit tighter than just pressing into the barrel and it worked a bit better, or should I say more often than not it would fire the laser. It fits securely (when properly adjusted) in the chamber. Removing is only a tug away. The laser is fairly bright when the batteries are new but seems to fade pretty quickly, for me, it was with about 10-15 mins of use. But....I had to replace the batteries all but one time that I used it. The set that was inside when I first opened it worked for the first time I used it (about 10-15 mins worth of training, just to get a feel for it.) 3 days later I inserted into the barrel of my weapon, and nothing, wouldn't work. I finally figured out that the batteries were dead. I installed the second set that came with it. I didn't use it for about a week, when I trained with it the following week, it lasted about 5 mins then began "hit or miss" on when it would light up. It was as if it wasn't sensitive enough to hear the firing pin just as when I first got it, but it was very snug in the barrel. So I went to the store and bought 2 more sets a couple weeks later and used the first new set 1 day, came back the following day and they were dead. I again, installed another new set of batteries and after using them, I removed the batteries. I've been told this was an issues recently but this is an $85 part. You shouldn't have to remove the batteries to keep them from discharging!! I store it in my gun carrying case, a Condition 1 water-tight polypropylene case with custom pull and pluck foam. The space I made for it is just wide enough to hold it tight and it has room on the on/off button end so that nothing hits the button, yet the batteries still discharge. These batteries are $4 each at batteries plus, bit rich for my blood to just throw them away constantly. But now I get to chase teeny tiny batteries all around my case...... thanks a lot Laserlyte! I think we will be talking real soon!
