The Poverty Pony runs away with the AMFER race

Kentucky-based Anderson Manufacturing, whose racehorse logo adorns the sides of their components and firearms, produced an amazing 439,559 “miscellaneous firearms” in 2020, more than anyone else in that category.

For reference, those figures come from the ATF’s recently released Annual Firearms Manufacturers and Export Report (AFMER), which is always a year behind to protect industry secrets. The “miscellaneous firearms” category is for guns that aren’t fully assembled rifles, pistols, or shotguns, and is typically reserved for things such as serialized firearms receivers sold separately, such as Anderson’s AR lowers.

Of note, the second-place entry in the category was Palmetto State Armory, as a stout runner-up at 289,537. Looking back over the past four years of AFMERs, Anderson has topped the category for each. 

Needless to say, the market for uppers, barrels, and accessories for ARs is white-hot right now.
