Making effective use of its new Ozark, Missouri facility, Fiocchi USA has been diving into the growing niche that is the 5.7x28mm ammo market and is giving consumers what they want.

Besides two personal defense loads debuted at SHOT Show in the caliber (35-grain Hyperformance jacketed frangible and the Hyperformance 40-grain hollow point cartridges) the company this week announced a first for the caliber– a commercial subsonic load. The new 5.7×28 Range Dynamics Subsonic runs a fat 62-grain FMJ bullet for a reduced recoil impulse and sound signature, especially when using a suppressor.

It makes sense to see new 5.7 loads with Palmetto State Armory’s Rock series and the new Smith & Wesson M&P 5.7 entering the market alongside Ruger’s 57 pistol and carbine, the KelTec P50 carbine, and the legacy offerings from FN such as the MRD Five-seveN.
