Beretta announces 80X Cheetah, A300 Patrol Shotgun

Beretta has, true to rumor, released a more budget-minded “tactical” autoloading shotgun than their famed (but $1,500) Model 1301 Tac.

The new gun is the Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol, which retails for $1,099. A gray 3-inch magnum 12 gauge on a proven action with an 7+1-shot extended magazine tube secured by a custom barrel clamp with integral M-LOK capability, the gun is based on the company’s A300 hunting designs but is clearly meant defending the home front rather than bagging ducks.

While it will not kill the Benelli M4 or the 1301 itself, it likely will spell trouble for guns like the Mossberg 940.

Also new is the Beretta 80X pistol, which takes the vaunted old Model 80 “Chettah” series gun, which is a woefully underrated 13+1 shot .380 from the 1990s and gives it a nice makeover.

The new 80X, as the model number would tease, borrows from the 92X series as it has an X-series trigger pack, is optics-ready, has an accessory rail, and uses a slim Vertec grip. Cost is $799.
